LA LUZ TUNNEL EXPANSION PROGRESS

HELLIX VENTURES INC. - HEL:TSX.V/HLLXF:OTC - Vancouver, BC- Frank Underhill, President, announces the following on the Las Minitas project - La Luz tunnel expansion progress to date:

As at July 11, 2008, the tunnel expansion is approaching the 110 metre mark.

We are nearing the location (120 metre mark) of two formerly announced high grade samples taken over a width of 1.6 metres. These ran 2,343 grams and 1,585 grams silver, and 4.93 grams and 1.79 grams gold respectively.

On site personnel includes a crew of 6 – 8 men plus a couple of casual laborers. Crew accommodations have been secured 1 km to the south of the project. Equipment employed includes two jack-legs, a 2000 cfm air compressor, and a front end loader with a 5 cu.yd. bucket.

Expansion advance is approximately 5 metres per day, with the crew working around the clock in two 12-hour shifts. Each round involves 26 x 1.5 metres jackleg holes plus loading, firing and rock removal. We are about 150 metres from the point of the first drill crosscut (one of two planned crosscuts).

All of the dump material from the tunnel has been loaded onto the road, providing another 1 – 3 metres of height to the roadbed. The access road has been fully completed just ahead of the rainy season.

Preparations are being made in advance of the impending NQ diamond drill program including acquisition of downhole survey equipment and construction of a core shed.

HELLIX VENTURES (HEL – TSX.V) is engaged in the identification, acquisition, exploration and development of gold and silver properties in Mexico. Hellix has no debt (other than short-term trade payables), and has positive cash flow from fossil fuel production in Western Canada.
